Hey guys,

So this might be a dumb question. But I've noticed many people asking "cool, what kind of rifle is that" to my Colt MT6400c (a ban state version of the 6920). What is the best answer? What do you guys say? Here are all the possible responses I see / hear

- AR-15
- AR-15 Carbine
- Civilian M4
- M4 but semi auto
- M4 Carbine

What is technically the right answer??

Technically it's a Colt MT6400c, and thats what I would call it if people wanted to know what it really was.

My RRA is technically a LAR-15, but I usually just call it my AR.

Colt AR15.

If they ask "what kind of Colt AR15?", give them the details.

It is what it is.

Most people who look at a firearm and say "cool" are more than likely completely ignorant of firearm laws and firearm nomenclature in general. Just explain the restrictions of the ban state. Other than a 14.5" bbl and select fire, the 6920 is an exact match to a military M4. Yours has just been neutered

I'd also call it a Colt AR-15 since that's exactly what it is. If friends say they've heard the AR is one of those Evil Assault Rifles, just say, "No it's America's Rifle"!
