I just dealt with this with my Springfield SAR-8 and it's ugly thumbhole stock as well as my MAK-90.

It is kinda ridiculous that switching out an USA made magazine for a 3rd world magazine will make a gun more dangerous, but there it is:haha:

Actually, you have Ruger/Remington/S&W/Colt etc... to thank for that one. They were very worried about all the military imports being dumped on the market hurting their bottom line. So they pushed for a "sporting use" clause in order to restrict the import of surplus military arms. Thus was born 922(r) and 925(d)(3)

I am a contractor for a govt agency. When you look at stuff like 922r, you do see consistent decision making across the board. Yes, the 'guvment' is VERY consistent in their decision making.
