In the gun shop today and saw this Talo EXO G19. I liked the look and the sights so I bought it, $600.

I don't know much about it and can't find much info on it.

The slide has a nickle-boron treatment and the sights are Trijicon figure of 8 with a u notch.

Here are some pics and any thoughts welcome

Thx

Looks like it has that exo/fail zero coating. That finish is supposed to be very good, so it looks like you have a very cool packing gun on your hands. TALO probably bought a lot of Glocks and had them exo/fail zero coated. I like the contrast quite a bit, congrats on the new blaster.

I believe the sights are the AmeriGlo I Dot Pro series.

It was an impulse buy, which I don't do very often. But I liked the look and the sights agreed with my aging eyes.

Hope to get it out to the range soon.

Nice ! Talo has always been known for special runs but in the past they have usually been S&Ws along with a few Colts. I like the sight picture.

Only thing I know is that I want one :D Great looking Glock! I wish I could find some of these "Talo" Glocks where I live, but I guess they don't make any for Euro countries :(

It is a FZ finish.

Can we see inside the gun (like if they coated any internals)?

The coat only the slide and barrel (not the chamber or bore). On early versions of the G17s they also coated the slide stop levers.

I agree that is what they look like. I don't recall Trij doing anything in that I Dot type setup and they just announced their front sights with the color outline.

I will admit I opened this thread thinking I wouldn't like. I admit I was wrong. I like the slide finish and the sights. $600 is high for a GLOCK but given the re-finish and upgraded sights it's not bad at all.

Good job.

Thats a nice looking Glock.

What are your impressions of the sights? They are fairly new and I haven't seen many reviews. They look very nice...

I really like the sights, and the coating just for something different. For $600 I think you got a great deal!

I have the same sights on one of my G19s and my G23...they are great.

I especially like how those rear sights are dished out, very nice pistol, though I know virtually nothing of the finish...

The internals are not coated. Just the slide.
At least on mine I do not think the barrel is coated, just stainless.
Here's a pic, but the color balance is off a bit. However, you can see the barrel has glare on it but the slide does not.

The sights have trijicon on them but I think that may just be identifying the lamps. They are similar to Ameriglo Hackthorns; same dimensions. Same post, tritium ringed with orange. Rear is smooth U whereas Hackthorns are serrated square. The rear on these has a small plain tritium dot and Hackthorns are plain.

For future reference for anyone else interested, the sights in question are available here: http://www.ameriglo.net/catalog/sights/pistol-sights/glock/night-sights/complete-sets/i-dot

The "Pro" option gives the Hackathorn front sight.

Yep. Those are the ones. Thx for finding that.

Glock puts an NP3 like nickel-teflon finish on its internals. They would have to be stripped to be Exo coated. Likely not worth the extra effort. I would wager it would only be worth if if they got the parts uncoated first from Glock.

Trijicon installs the tritium in Ameriglo sights.

If your barrel has Glock proof marks above the chamber, it is a coated, standard Glock barrel. I suspect is is coated. The barrels tend to be smoother than the slides.

I think you are correct about that. It does have the glock proof marks and the finish is dull compared to a Bar-Sto stainless barrel.

Thx for your input.

The factory Glock barrels are polished prior to them adding the Tenifer and the factory black coating and the slides are not polished. That is why the EXO coating appears different on those two parts.

I really dig that set-up. Did the shop have any more of them available?

They got 4 in last week and saturday morning 1 was left. His volume moves quickly so it's most likely sold. Plainfield Shooting Supply, Plainfield, IN.

Very nice. If I saw one I'd prolly buy it too. I'd really like to have that finish on a RTF2.
