If you believe that the US military has learned a lot about what makes a reliable battle rifle in the 40 years of existence of the M16/M4 platform, then you have to believe that measuring the battle rifle you buy against the rifles that the military buys is a valid test of professional grade weaponry.

So, go look up on Rob_s comparison chart where the various rifle manufacturers sit relative to the military's technical data package for the platform.

Many product manufacturers make an advertising point of their product being "professional grade". GMC advertised their trucks that way. Milwaukee power tools, same thing. Wouldn't you rather have a "professional grade" rifle, if you have the option and it only costs a couple hundred dollars more than a "Black and Decker" grade rifle?
