I believe the Kimber Solo was recently released and the Sig P290 will be released later this year. Has anyone had a chance to feel or fire either of these pistols? Does anyone know the price range for each?

It's good to see new sub-compacts hitting the market.

The P290's MSRP is $758, not sure about the Kimber. Either way, I'll pass.

I'll pass. With the recent history of these two companies, I'll save the headache for another day.

Kimber is up there in the $800 range too.

$759+ for either of these two pistols is kinda ridiculous.

I'd be willing to take a chance on a version 1.0 single stack Glock or M&P. For these two however, I'll let somebody else be the guinea pig. Great concept, though!

Pass...I'd rather get another M&P9c.

The top picture says Kahr. Am I missing something here?

It is a picture comparing the size of the new kimber solo 9 and the kahr pm9.

I don't like these very small 9mm pistols.

I'd rather have something a little larger, similar in size to a Kahr K9 or P9 that holds 8 rounds and doesn't suck.

or for a M.S.R.P. of $359 there is the Ruger LC9 single stack.

Jeff over at GunBlast did a pretty good review.
My only con is the lack of ambi-safety or that they put a manual safety on it in the first place.

I'll stick with my proven M&P9c for now.

(going to sell my kel-tec pf9 not because i hate it but it's just a safe queen these days)

I have fondled the Solo quite a bit. I don't care too much for it. I like the way it feels but cannot justify the price.

If Glock ever hits the market with a compact single stack, they'll own this market niche.

Of course, if it even has the slightest flaw there will be no end of pissing and moaning. Hmm, maybe that's why they haven't done it yet.

Thanks! At first glance I thought it was both sides of the same pistol.

I won't really have any comments on these guns until after they hit the market and see some serious use, although neither company has a great reputation going right now.

For the time now I rather own a pm9 which have ran great for me.

I don't have a Blog or anything cool like that, but I won't be spending any of my money on the new Ruger, either. Of the three, I think it's by far the worst, for a variety of reasons, detailed at the link above...
