Hey guys. I'm looking to lighten my AR by changing my ATN Javelin tac light to a Surefire G3 (about 15 oz to about 5). I found the G3 reasonably priced and I found a mount made for it at GG&G. However, I can't find a pressure switch except for one for a Pelican that some people say works. Any ideas here? I would want quality. THANKS!

Also interested, would make for an inexpensive "scout" setup.

The only thing I have found so far is from Command Arms. That should be decent, right? It is called CAA PS8G2. Area51 tactical has it for 35 bucks. Anyone know if area51 tactical is legit? Anyway I still need suggestions. Thanks!

I'd take that with a big grain of salt.

Pelican 2326C M6 Tactical Remote Pressure Switch for Pelican M6 Flashlight
I just got 2 for my G2 LEd's I figure they would work on a G3. They work good. Line isn't very long but long enough for me.

I finally found one review of CAA and it was here on M4. One guy said he tried the Command Arms part and it flew off after 3 rounds of being mounted to a 12 gauge. I didn't know much about CAA before because I was more comfortable with tried and true brands so I always knew what I wanted in advance. Now that I have checked around painstakingly, it looks like CAA makes crap that looks like Batman props. It looks like the pelican is the best option so far. I may go with that and report back here after some hard usage.

Hey Dualspringfields......Has the Pelican been pretty good for you? You run the gun pretty hard with it?

Yes they have been good to me so far. Got one on a 870 & one on each of my AR's. I have had zero problems with any of them. Try one out. Hell they're only 18 r 19 bucks. Does not work on a G2X. : ( Yep CAA is the devil.

Ok Thanks a lot. Looks like the Pelican it is. Just in case anyone in interested in an economical tac light system that is of high quality, I plan to do the following:

-Surefire G3 (in $70 range) (The G2 is in the $45 range, but is only 60 Lumen)
-Mount (VTAC and GG&G make a good one, about $20)
-Pelican pressure switch (about $20)

Total of about $115-120 shipped

Not bad for a 105 Lumen Surefire setup

How are you going to attach the pressure switch?

How are you going to attach the pressure switch?

The pressure switch is integral with the Pelican tac light back. The back just screws on the back of the g3 flashlight and there you have it, pressure switch control. Dualspringfields attached a link to look at the part I refer to on his post. I will attach the switch to the VFG. Hope that answers the question.

If I remember right, CAA came out of what was First Samco, which was owned by the same folks that own Fobus holsters. Put politely, they are a "budget company" that makes "budget products."
