Friends of NRA banquet

So there is one of these in my city tomorrow night. Are they any good and worth going to or is it just a really expensive dinner where I can get lectured on how I shouldn't use the word weapon?

They can be good as a social outing, if nothing else. Last Ducks Unlimited banquet I went to I won a nice jacket at a raffle and got to meet n greet with the new county sheriff. Plus $10 bottomless beer cups, oh yeah.
