Bought a new-in-the-box Mossy 590 the other day. After I got it home, I was getting ready to do an initial cleaning when I noticed the heat shield spacer seemed to be a bit shorter than some I've seen on this particular model. The picture is pretty crappy, and light is reflecting off the front of the spacer, but there is a (maybe) 3/8 inch gap between the spacer and the mag tube support. I've seen other 590's with spacers that are flush with the mag support. Is this actually correct (it's factory installed) or do I need a longer spacer?

I would contact AIMPRO Tactical and ask them. They sell heat shields and they are a Mossberg warranty center, so if it isn't right, they should be able to help you out.

The spacer is trimmed too short. You can contact OFM and request they send you a new one to trim to length, you can order the replacement part, or you can contact Mike at Aimpro as suggested.
