Got a M&P40FS and the slide release lever has broken. 3900 rounds and the left side tab is gone. It seems this is a well documented issue and replacing it won't be a problem. Here's my question, does anyone make a better one? Better in terms of durability and function. I use my left thumb to release the slide on reloads (when it doesn't release on it's own) and I would like one with a little more prominent grip.

Could try Speed Shooters. They don't list a new one though. Might be worth contacting them.

As far as I know, no body makes an aftermarket slide release.

I have a factory one if you need it. (will probably need some minor fitting)

Thanks DaveR and dougwg. Called S&W this morning and they are shipping me one under warranty. I should have it in the gun before the weekend.:)

I thought for sure someone would have been producing an extended version by now.

The M&P slide release is a pretty decent shape already (much better than the stock Glock) and doesn't really need an extended version...

What fitting is required?

You'll have to wait and see.

The 2 that I had to install had to be tweaked to move freely.

dougwg,
Would you care to comment on the needed tweaks?
