If you've gotten Apex Tactical's Action Work for J-Frames (http://www.apextactical.com/services.php) ( apextactical.com/ ), how do you like it? Before and after comparison? Someone mentioned a drop in j-frame kit - is that the same work?

There was also a past thread over at SIGforum that has since been archived where Randy mentioned something about newer j-frame firing pins and faiure to fire issues, pin length, specs, etc. Does he still do this upgrade / check?

Try the Apex Tactical area of this forum since you're not getting much response here.

Hi,

We haven't released our drop in j frame trigger kits yet. There are a few parts we still need to finalize.

The short factory firing pins have been problematic, so part of our action work includes replacing those pins that measure .486" or less in length.

Our action work involves polishing the appropriate bearing surfaces as well as balancing the spring forces. Because each revolver has its own set of tolerances, we sometimes need to do some additional adjustments like aligning the crane, retiming the cylinder, etc. These are things that a drop in kit cannot address.
