I have a problem with the buffer on the recoil spring ramming over the pin and spring set. Everything else seems to be correct.

Spring and buffer are correct in tube.
Tube is right
rear take down pin and spring is correct

Any suggestions?

Can you please clarify this? What exactly do you mean? The lower receiver extension should be screwed in until it makes contact with the buffer retaining pin and spring. They should be moving up and down freely.

The buffer should then be held into place. The bolt carrier should glide over the pin without any problems (that little channer in the rear).

Based on my comprehension skills, it sounds as though the buffer detent spring is not holding the buffer and buffer spring in place.

Pics would be very, very helpful. This would be a first for me as I have never heard of someone having this problem. I think one of two possibilities are occurring here. Either the Receiver Extension (buffer tube) is screwed in too far or not far enough. I would guess it was screwed in too far into the receiver as this would cause the detent to ride too low and possibly allow the buffer/spring to override the detent.

WE NEED PICS..........

First I used the wrong names for the parts. I simply had not screwed the buffer tube far enough on the lower. The pin was floating freely rather than being held slightly by the tube.

Thanks for the input. Too early in the am to be trying to work on my rifles!!:fie:
