This is a picture of the feed ramps on my dads bushmaster ar. I am looking to get a new upper receiver for it with the flat top and wanted to check to make sure i am right in assuming that it has m4 feed ramps. Thanks for your help.

Welcome.

One of the great features of this site is the wealth of knowledge at your fingertips. If you use the orange search button at the top right hand side of your screen and type in "M4 feed ramps" you'll find all kinds of useful information. My search pulled up this thread complete with pictures:

What you have are rifle feed ramps in the barrel extension and no feed ramps in the upper receiver. Read through the thread I posted for you and if you have any questions you can come back.

Your dad has rifle feed ramps. You'll need to get a receiver without feed ramps, or get one with feed ramps (as in the "bad" pic in the LLQ) and have have gunsmith or somebody take a dremel to it.

Does he have a rifle or carbine? Since you didn't specify. If that is a rifle, it is good. If it's a carbine it would be more desirable to have M4 ramps.

Also, do not use a Dremel.

Probably right. Better off to have Steve at ADCO use the Dremel. He only wants $15 for it.

I don't care who does it. Doing it after the fact is crap. You will then have exposed aluminum unless it is reanodized.

Right part and right tools for the right job.
