Tools I recommend buying for building or working on ARs:
I recommend getting a fairly large bench mounted vise. We use a 5" Wilton (http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=206449-28920-69999&lpage=none) vise at work.

Neds MOACKS and 5.56mm NATO chamber reamer (http://www.m-guns.com/tools.php) I don't recommend reaming every AR you own, especially the ones you might want .5MOA groups out of. The reamer should really only be used to fix tight chambers on some barrels and others that are popping primers (w/NATO pressure ammo) or having hard extraction, and new extractors, springs, black inserts and extractor enhancers don't fix

MOACKS L-R
AR10/SR25/AP4 MOACKS, AR15 MOACKS, AR15 Pocket MOACKS

Newly added MOACKS III (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=35380) which does both 5.56mm and 7.62mm carriers. Ned made this at the request of M4C member Ricardus.

PRI barrel nut wrench (http://www.pri-mounts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PRI&Product_Code=05_0082&Category_Code=TOOLS) perfect for installing LaRue, YHM and other non-steel barrel nuts without damaging them has 5 longer pins that engage the holes in the barrel nut instead of 2 or 3 short pins if using a DPMS or USGI wrench

Craftsman Tappet wrench set (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00944189000P?vName=Tools&keyword=tappet+wrench) I use these very thin wrenches for removing rifle receiver extensions, removing/installing flash hiders (they don't scratch the crush washer), largest one fits the AAC suppressor mounts as well

Pipe wrench (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00930843000P?vName=Tools&keyword=pipe+wrench) rarely used but when the bbl nut is damn near welded on, I cut the delta ring, snap ring and weld spring (with a large set of bolt cutters above) and remove and use the pipe wrench to remove the bbl nut (I have about 15 spare bbl nuts)
