View Full Version : Normally I don't pay a great deal of attention to DPMS rifles ...

... but this one on Gunbroker (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=217633509) certainly caught my attention.
It occurs to me that, with an opening bid requirement of $99,699.99, they might have it sitting in the shop for a while.

I built this one, that's why it is so expensive.

$40 for shipping and handling? ****, for $100,000 you'd think they'd at least offer to pay shipping.
I built this one, that's why it is so expensive.
Oh, well that explains it then. :D

that, and that's high for shipping... i've got a rifle listed on GB that weighs more than that weapon, and i'm only asking $30 for shipping.
sheesh... some people, man.

So long as Rob S includes his approval and a copy of the chart because I am a fool and can't read and decipher technical data without a coloring book and crayon!:D

I thought this thread was gonna be about that DPMS sniper rifle custom built by a 13 year veteran Navy SEAL Special Forces Operator that some guy's been trying to peddle on TOS and gunbroker. :haha:
Last time he came up on TOS, someone contacted the seller and was offered a full auto conversion for something like $80.

Guys, I apologize, but I have seen TOS referenced time and time again here. Can someone tell me what the heck that is? Believe me I can't find it from a search of tos. From the context I have seen over time it is some forum of all mall ninjas or something. Thanks.

Very true :D

Despite the fact that many members of TOS are members here as well, and I suspect, vice versa.

Not overpriced, just got stuck in the Gunbroker time warp. That's the reasonable asking price from two years in the future. Thank Uncle Benanke.
I have a feeling someone is doing a proxy auction. Item was sold locally or thru a forum, but the buyer wants a legit way to make the sale. Or they are trying to up their feedback and having friends "buy" guns from them so they can leave feedback.

Gunbroker seller fees are based on a percentage of selling price. If they're doing a sale like you describe, they may get a really rude surprise on their next monthly statement!

Yep. What do you think the real numbers are on cross-membership?
Well maybe if it was solid gold!!!:fie: But I'd say thats just aliitle over priced!!
I'll take it!

You guys completely missed it! This was an experiment to prove just how much it costs to install a full-auto carrier with an MP-tested bolt, properly stake the carrier keys and castle nut, install an F-marked front sight base and H-buffer, and ream the chamber out to 5.56. After all was said and done, they thought adding a rear sight and 1/7 twist, 4150 CMV, HP/MP-tested barrel would be too cost prohibitive, so they just ignored those two and opted for some Magpul furniture to drive up its appeal instead.
And that is for a used one, you should see what they go for brand new!
