Building a Tactical Solutions 10/22 and want to get a good scope. I don't want to spend more than $400. My friend is selling a leupold mark ar 1.5x4x20 for pretty cheap. Would that be a good choice? I like the size better than a traditional rim-fire scope. Just looking for a good solid scope for this build.

Since its a rimfire, i would get one with an adjustable objective. Personally, i would save some $$$$ and just pick up a cheaper scope. I had a Tasco 6-24x40mm on my 10/22 build and it was nice (glass was good and it worked), also had a centerpoint 3-9x32mm on another 10/22 and it worked too.

I just couldnt justify putting something like a leupold on a .22lr....

EDIT: i forgot one brand that is popular in the .22 community, checkout Mueller scopes. NOTE: i've never used one, but from all the reviews i've read (i was in your spot about 2yrs ago) they are gtg for rimfires.

+1,,, ^ ^ ^

Adjustable objective is a nice option on a rimfire scope. Check out the Mueller APV's. Unless your dead set on spending a lot on a rimfire scope. :)

I like a true 1x on a 10/22, only because it is one of the more popular guns to shoot up close, even when plinking.

I went with the inexpensive 1-3x Weaver. If I were to do it again, I'd probably get the new 1-4x Burris TAC30.

Nice Ruger. I gave the kids 10-22s for Christmas one year...what stock do you have on that rifle? McMillan makes one similar to that.

Thanks guys.

Yes, the stock is a Boyd's "Tacticool". It is hands down the most comfortable 10/22 stock I've owned. I wish they made one for centerfire rifles, especially for the price!

tasco wordclass 4-16x40, paralax adjustment. Reminds me of the mueller, but cheaper. I like high magnification on the 10/22 for the small targets at long ranges. Paralax adjustment is a must have on a 10/22 optic IMO.

That scope would be fine. I have a `1.5-5x Leupold on a Winchester bolt action .22 I have. It works great. If that is not your fancy a micro red dot from Primary Arms would also be a good choice.

So the parallax people are talking about I would not have to worry about with that scope?

Your set up is identical to mine. The Tasco scope is a good one for the 10/22. Although since I got into steel shooting, I switched to a red dot sight.

BTW, my Tasco is for sale at a good price. :p

Wish I knew when I just bought this one about 3 months ago. I am very happy with the scope. Shoots dime sized groups at 25 yards.

The luepold You posted the link to? Paralax will not be an issue with that particular scope, because You can adjust it down to closer ranges. Paralax sucks for 22lr if You are going for super tight groups at a close distance. With that scope You can set the paralax for short distances. It looks like a great scope. The mueller is the big thing on rimfire forums. They are what everyone is saying is absolutly gtg. http://www.gunkings.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=148&products_id=297 I have no experience with the mueller. Just 3-9 walmart bushnells and that tasco worldclass. I do like it. It is pretty clear at 16x as long as You have the distance set. I do not use the illumination. The mildot is nice for long distance targets that will report. Satisfaction for me is hearing that dink a couple seconds after the shot at 200. Kind of addicting :)

Well I think I am going to go with the Leupold rimfire scope. It is a bit more $ than the rest but I think it will be a good one for this build.

Here is the link to it again. Anyone with opinions on this scope feel free to chime in....

I like it, and it looks like a nice scope. I just cannot see the price on the link. What are You going to pay for this thing? I'm sure it is an excellent scope.

I haven't done too much research yet on where I am going to get it, but I think I have seen them around $340 w/o rings on the net.
