Just finished my first build, and am curious if the movement between upper and lower is excessive . Complete upper DD 16 inch light rail ,and lower is a DD that i installed the LPK into.
I measured .011 with a feeler gauge is that considered excessive?
Thank you for your time

.011'' sounds about right. Credit card is about .030'' which is how most will judge excessive.

Is the .030 for static measurement? Meaning my concern is i can twist the upper and lower and the rifle will rattle, I took my measurement when twisting it in one direction. I have 0 experience with the AR platform and do apologize in advance.

I can testify to the rattling, as i was on the phone with him, and i heard it rattle. Tried to call brother, mine has no movement, no rattle. The gap is very small. Might be .003.

A rattling sound is fine it happens.

Play between the receivers can be different between brands, but yours sounds about right. A milspec M4 has about that much play between upper/lower. My VLTOR MUR and Tactical Machining lower on the other hand is tight as a drum.
