SB 126 passed today. Now you don't have to qualify with every single semi-auto that you'd like to CC. Good news!!!

I've been planning a trip to Reno for a non-res NV/UT ccw class. I'd have to take the class on a Sat, and wait till monday to get the sheriffs to sign it off. Might this affect me?

Yes and in a good way! For anyone else who doesn't know, in Nevada prior to SB 126, you had to qualify with every single semi-automatic firearm you intended to conceal carry.

For example if you wanted the option to carry a G19, G26 and a G23 at different times or simultaneously you would have to qualify with each and every pistol. At the time I qual'ed one of my pistols was my Wilson 1911 and I was only permitted to carry a full size 5" .45 1911 from Wilson Combat, not Colt, not Kimber, only Wilson. This is really good news!

I have no idea what you're talking about getting the Sheriff to sign off though... In Clark County, Las Vegas, LV Metro handles the permits.

My Google-Fu returned nothing. However, I did run across this which sounds interesting.

AB231 is another constitutional carry bill we need to support.

You can also add comments here:
http://www.leg.state.nv.us/AppCF/Opinion/76th2011/Poll/

It primarily differs from SB176 in that SB176 is also a bill to end registration in Clark County, and AB231 also eliminates 202.3673 and other regulations concerning permit holders. In SB176 as it reads currently by not making these changes, it would put current permit holders in the odd place of having more restrictions on where they can carry concealed than non-permit holders as well as require them to show their permit and ID on demand to police.

I hope this goes through. NV un-recognized Utah's permit so now I have to open carry in NV. Utah's gov. Herbert is a fukwit who opposes constitutional carry. He is just another big govt. republican.

I know it sucks, but have you considered getting a NV CCW. That's what I did.

did not realize that you had to do that in NV. Like Gunz said, why not get a CCW permit?

"The Great State of Sunshine"(FL), our permit is not item specific or quantity specific, obviously CIII stuff does not apply or is covered, but I would only see it being a PITA to do, but for "Practicality Only", good to train with everything.

...just because you carry a .380, does not mean you will shoot as good w/ your .44MAG unless you train.
