Just bought a 16' SCAR.. Trying to get the best scope for it.. But really overwhelmed with options. Was thinking about trijicon but hard to find one for 16 inch barrel, not specifically made for a flat top m4. Thought about some 1x4's variables as well. Would love to hear any opinions.

I slapped an Aimpoint Comp ML3 on mine with Larue Lt-150, looks great.

The TA31 series, the TA33 series, and the TA11 series are all made for a 16" barrel.

Looking for something more than a red dot, either a trijicon or one of these new 1-4 setup's like the NXS. I am so overwhlemed at the selection and options!!

Ask yourself what you want the rifle to be used for. Come back with the answer and we will be able to direct you further from there.

Optic is purpose driven, so it is for you decide. Issue with SCAR that you need to be aware is interference between charging handle and mount - choose your mounts carefully.

I'll probably use it in 3gun, and want it to be good all around. I don't like to isolate it to one thing, just like a good general purpose gun. Was reading in another thread about acog vs a good variable 1-4... Not sure i see the need for acog now with all these variable 1-4's out now.

If 3 gun then 1-4. Now you just need to decide on which manufacturer and model you want to give money to.

Yea I have come to that conclusion. Do you all think there is really 1k or 2k even in difference between the NF NXS and say the S&B short dot, or the leupold cqb ss? 3k for a 1-4 seems like a ton of money. I'd spend 3k on a long range precision rifle scope, but for a 1-4......

The short dot seems super expensive... I have a burris xtr-14 now, but i want something more... The nightforce nxs is getting good reviews. Is there anything else in and around the 1k price point better than than the nightforce?

I've been running an XPS and TA31 on mine with QD mounts but I've been looking hard at one of the NXS 1-4's, I just wish there were more reticle or BDC options. I'm not a big fan of the FC2 holdovers, but everything I've heard about the clarity and durability are outstanding. Not sure which way to go.

I don't know about "better" than a NF, but have you considered the new SWFA SS 1-4x HD? Looks like a lot of scope for $800.

Yea thats where I am at.. I've always wanted an ACOG but with the 1-4's i am not sure i see the point in an ACOG now.. I like my XTR-14 but want to go to the next level now with the SCAR.. So many options...

So the leupold mr/t or the nightforce NXS are the two I have it narrowed down to. The other possibility is the US optics sn-4s.. Anyone have opinions on these three for the SCAR 16?

I like the ta31 ecos as this was just about made for the gun, I believe if I bought a 1-4 it would just stay on 4 power, why have the extra parts and lenses necessary for adjustable power to 4x. The ecos has a doctor dot scope on it also for close range also. But one of the reasons I bought the ta31 is that the military and trijicon already did all the testing under extreme conditions on these scopes, One of the main reasons I bought a scar-16 is because of the military testing. And it even matches the color of the rifle.

I would go with the Leupold MRT 1.5x5. I love mine.

I picked up an NXS 1-4 in an ADM recon x on top of mine and I couldn't be happier. The reticle is not my cup of tea per say, but the glass is outstanding, and the mechanical aspects of the scope are all superb. Also with the recon x no busted knuckles :D I am still figuring out the holdovers, but I would never go back to the TA-11 I traded for it.

I think this is the one i leaning towards.. The Nightforce i've been told and read has some illumination problems. I get the leupold for 1100 or so from larue with the mount.. I think this is what I will go with.. Now if i can get these idiots why bought my ebay auctions to pay me.. i could order it!

Does the 1.5 make the up shots harder? My burris is a 1.. people keep telling me not to get the 1.5

Check out the leupold mark 8 it's a 1.1-8x tactical scope. It's like 3500 dollars though
