I've been looking at a set of Troy fixed sights. Any thoughts?
What sights do you prefer?

Thanks

I like the Daniel Defense sights the best, only Troys I have are folding sights.

LMT has a very good set of fix sights! Check them out.

I currently use, and prefer, the Daniel Defense line of fixed sights. They are cheap, lightweight, and durable.

I've used LMT, LaRue and DD fixed rear sights. I like the DD best. Lowest price and weight. Try the EE here that's where I've had great luck.

Ive got DDs on my rifle, but after adjusting them (I use a multitool and/or cartridge) both front and rear sights show considerable wear. Factory irons on any of my issue rifles never looked this torn up afterwards.

Just something to be aware of. They work great, just a bit banged up, which I couldnt care less about.

FWIW,

I put a set of the Troy fixed sights on my 16" BCM middy, with a 13" VTAC extreme and am very happy with them. Low profile attachment so no worry of snagging on kit.

I'd buy them again without hesitation.

The custom build forum is to ask questions and post pics of custom builds. Not ask about sights.

With diopter sights you'll shoot in the center of the front circle, which usually puts your shots low. I shot a bear in the legs that way.

I have a set of troy fixed sight (HK style FDE) that I have on a BCM 14.5 middy. I really like the fixed HK style front because the lower 1/3 Aimpoint ml3 dot "floats" right in between the tips of the ears. I ended up going back to a folding rear though. The fixed rear was too busy for me.

I shot a bear in the legs that way.

Interesting, and how did he feel about that?

OP, you'd be hard-pressed to do any better than a set of Troy sights, folding or fixed.

If you don't find the answer you seek there, add your question to that thread and you'll likely get a better response.

I have a Troy fixed rear on one of my carbines. Works good.

My whole department uses Troy fixed sights for our patrol rifles. Excellent lightweight sights, with less to mess around with (ala knobs on the carry handle). Our officers love them!
