Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I am wondering if there are any major differences as far as performance between a midlength and a carbine, when it comes to 14.5. I have read that when it comes to a 16" barrel that midlength is a better platform, since the 16" carbine has a more violent cycling. Is this seen in the 14.5" carbine, or does the length negate that?

Plumber:

This has been done 'till the fork wore out, without much resolution. Since most people talk about "dwell time" in this context, do a site search for "dwell" and read on this to your heart's content. You might start with:

The shorter barrel does not "negate" the benefits that the midlength gas system brings to the table.

Also, when doing a search, but sure you use the orange/yellow search button up top, and not the forum search. You will, generally, get better results.
