Brand new 556 Classic never fired just got it last Sat. I had a chance to clean it today to remove packing grease and everything went great until the step of removing the firing pin. The stud is seized up in the bolt and will not give at all. Applying pressure to the rear of the firing pin on a hard surface while using an awl to push on the stud. I let it soak a couple of hours in Clp an wd40 no luck. Looks like a pretty common problem according to doing searches on this website and sigarms556.

Suggestions Comments.
Probably send back to Sig.

read your post better and noticed you mentioned sigarms556.com. Seems like the sig 556 is a source of argument here lately. Good Luck

The OP seems to have legitimate concerns, but I can't help but think that at any time, scottryan or variablebinary is going to come in here and get medieval. :D

Give Exeter a call first thing Monday and see if someone can walk you through it.

If that still doesn't work, get them to issue a call tag to take it back on their dime.
