Does anyone make discreet rifle cases in any color other than black?

Almost all of the decent quality cases I've seen come in some version of OD and some version of Tan.

I have a Maxpedition case in OD and it's great. It comes in Tan too.

Eagle makes nice ones in Khaki, Ranger Green, and OD.

TT also has some good ones in various colors.

I have a blue Eagle that was part of a limited production custom run on TOS a few years ago. I wish more companies made cases in the non-tactical colors. There are some things I wish were different about the case (like having removable mag pouches in the exterior pocket, with Molle attachment).

That Cavalry case is interesting but expensive.

Actually am looking for something that is on the smaller side along the lines of 26"-32" in other colors.

If can't find anything will go with black and camoflage it from there.

Eagle Industries just introduced the SBR Discreet Case, length is about 29" and comes in Khaki and Ranger Green.

Steve at Triad Tactical has them in stock here: http://triadtactical.com/?mainURL=/store/category/a34i/Weapon_Cases_Bags.html

Tactical Taylor will do them in (or used to) in different colors. We had some made in burgundy, blue and forest green done a couple of years ago.

The Cav Arms cases are nice. Give them a call and ask for the price normally it's better then listed.

London Bridge Trading (LBT) has various colors in the store as well, not sure about the site though.

If there's enough interest I could get another one of these going, but with Tactical Tailor. Unfortunately, Eagle is at just about 6 month wait time.

Speak of the devil... ;)

Anyone that hasn't dealt with GIFFMANN before, we got the blue eagle cases through him. He'll take care of you!

i carry a lot of o.d. and tan when i am going to the range. but when i am traveling in civilian circles i use a nike tennis bag. i bought it at a big time tennis shop and its for 3-4 rackets, comes with double straps and a bright blue with a red swoosh.

it holds

1. an m-4 with a 101/2" bbl 4 mags
2. can
3. nods
4. glock 19 4 mags, holster, dmp.
5. randall 5"
6. 511 vest
7. instructor's belt.
use small travel lock and leave it in motel room closet. never had a look at it or bothered with it. keep rest of mags and more gear in truck vault.

bell hop asked 1 time whose rackets i "hit" since i don't play tennis i said "nike"
hope to heck they make rackets, he never said a word, so must have worked.next time i was a dicks i studied rackets.

i aways carry it into motel myself as weight is a factor but the most discreet way i know to move "iron" amongst the sheeple.

works better than anything else i have ever seen. regardless of color we can ALL knock off a gun bag. i have 1 of the discrete bags form eagle for my mp-5 and every 1 would spot it in a heart beat tho its a cool blue.

Tactical Tailor used to do them in non-Mil colors. Appararently they do not do that anymore. I've got a real nice dark blue one from them.

I'm thinking something like this (http://www.natchezss.com/category.cfm?contentID=productDetail&brand=GG&category=11&subCategory=11&catLevel=1&prodID=GG10505) would work too. Split the upper and lower and the dimensions of the case should keep it "low profile."

I use a beat-up hardshell electric guitar case with rock & roll decals on it. But, it's still black.

The I-Shot S.E.R.T. cases that Grant sells are looking like what I will get, but the Tan is on an 8 week backorder, and I need something now.

I'll probably settle for Black.

There were some good reviews on this ase by Tim Lau and others at 10-8.

I am also going to recommend the iShot (SERT) case. I have an OD one in the 30" length for my Commando and I love it. Very well built, plenty of MOLLE attachments in the storage pouch and overall a quality product.

Couldn't find an I-Shot anywhere...especially in Tan. I tried Grant first and he doesn't have any I-Shot cases left regardless of color. I-Shot had the new "30" Breakdown case, but I want quicker access to the weapon than having to assemble it if needed. Grant said he's put of ALL I-shot cases with a 8 week lead time. i need something now.

After a very long search, I went with the "TAG" 35" Rifle Case. It has Molle Webbing in the storage compartment so I bought (2) Molle 3 Mag. Cases, and a Horizontal Utility Case with Molle capabilities as well from DSG Arms. They are a great company to deal with!

The "TAG" line SEEMS to be of very good quality (as expensive as I-Shot) so I am hoping for the best.

Do any of you have experience with the "TAG" line of cases?

I've seen the TAG rifle cases at their store in Oceanside, CA.

From what I could tell they were quality made. I don't think
you'll be disappointed.

A plus is that they are made here in the USA, not like the
I-Shot cases that are made in Vietnam.

Pretty funny video!

However, as I have said, I want a case that has more rapid access than to have to assemble the weapon before I can engage a threat. That being said...that was a VERY "Discreet" case.

Got my TAG case in this week, and the overall quality is top notch. Lots of Molle Straps in the storage compartment that I have used for (2) 3 30 Rnd. Mag. pouches and a Utility case for cleaning equip., batteries etc. It's a really slick setup, just like the I-Shot cases.

The only thing that I wish that was like the I-Shot case is all the molle webbing in the Gun Compartment. TAG uses a horizontal, centerline securing method that has Velcro to hold the tie down straps from moving fore and aft. You set the straps where you want them and they are solid...horizontally.

This securing method places the straps in the center of the case horizontally, but you can't move the straps vertically (up and down) so your rife is not tightly fastened to the inside of the case because the centerline of your rifle with a 30 Rnd. Mag inserted is about 2-3 inches higher than the centerline of the case. Am I making sense? There is slack in the tie down straps IF you want a 30 Rnd. Mag. inserted into the rifle.!

So why is this important...

Depending on which way you orient your rifle in the case (Optic or Mag up or down/ top or bottom) the Mag or Optic will be contacting the ground when you set the case down on its' bottom edge. I opted to have the Mag. contact the bottom of the case when I sit it down,. but I will consciously try to not do this, and lay it down flat.

You can see the mounting system here: http://dsgarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1024

I'm also looking for a case similar to the one Rob has. I've tried tennis racket cases but they are all <30" and I need about 32"

Blue Force Gear is coming out with a line of discreet cases that will be available in the following colors; Black, Multicam, ACU, Coyote Brown, Ranger Green, Emerald Green, Royal Blue, Burgundy, and Khaki. The cases are ultra-lightweight and designed more for discreetly transporting the weapon than as a dedicated range bag. The interior has a removeable divider for transporting a broken down 16" carbine (the case is 28" and will hold an assembled 11.5" SBR). It is also lined with loop fastener for attaching velcro backed pouches. The Emerald Green, Royal Blue, Burgundy, and Khaki cases are built of a ripstop 430 denier pack cloth and the military colors are 500 denier Cordura. Please contact Grant at G&R Tactical for pricing and availability.

Stephen - thanks very much for the heads-up. I'll touch base with Grant. Would this be a good case for the "truck gun"?

Thanks!

Here's a teaser pic of the Royal Blue Rip-Stop material we are using for the non-standard color line. The cases themselves aren't out of production yet, but it gives you an idea of what we are trying to do with the color options.

Any chance it will also be offered in a 33-34" version that would allow the carry of a 14.5-16" carbine intact? I have found that there are a multitude of discreet cases available for SBRs or a broken down carbine.

Possibly, but the 28" will be the initial offering.

Interesting. That blue rip-stop nylon looks to be good camo - it does not scream "gun" like the 1000 Cordura does.

The first thing that popped into my head was one of those collapsing lawn chair bags.

This should work quite well. I'll post a review as soon as I get mine from Grant. :)
