So, has anyone heard or seen this pistol from Sig-Sauer? I was looking through an LE publication and saw the add.

Very interesting concept. The "frame" and fire control unit are removeable which allows for the user to utilize different from sized "grips" and slide assemblies. I don't know how much extra pieces will be. My understanding is that the 9mm, .357 and .40 will utilize the same parts other than mags/barrels.
A .45 is to be realeased as well.

The traditional frame is where the huge change is. On this model, the frame is merely a housing for the fcg, the frame has the rails, etc. as a one piece unit. When inserted into the grip, the serial number is visible through a cut out. I think the grip comes in compact and full size and maybe even different width's.

The grip houses the mag catch/release, other than that, nothing but polymer. The fcg looks to be simple. Maintenance looks like it would be simplified.

An interesting idea would be for a dealer to carry the "frame" and then an assortment of slides and grips and let the user decide how to configure it. I don't know how it will be marketed, I guess we'll see!
