I have a KAC FH which I need to have removed and repinned so I can install a DD RIS. It was originally pinned by Adco but I know they always destroy the old muzzle device removing them, I need to know if there are any gunsmiths/shops that can remove a pinned FH without destroying it?

It can be done, the area where the pin is welded would have to be drilled out/milled out to clear the weld. (PITA)

Is it cost effective to do it & have it look right.

Probably not for a gunsmith who who does quality work with high attention to detail!

Some can but it would cost you 3-5 times the cost of a new muzzle device (meaning $300-500) and a KAC flash hider is what $100? Your money, your time.

Reasons like this is why I prefer a 16 over a 14.5

It's like I tell my wife - it's just an inch and a half, but it's TROUBLE :sarcastic:

Not so sure ADCO would destroy the muzzle device, as they just removed a pinned Vortex on a 14.5" Noveske barrel for a friend, and returned the barrel with newly installed brake, and the Vortex is in excellent condition!

It's a 20 minute job with a mill and you do not destroy the muzzle devise.
