SA XDM as a war gun

I've read "here and there" that xdm's are not recommended as go to war guns. Most people recommend m&p's, glocks, 1911's, etc. Is this just bogus or is there some reasoning behind it?

If you do a search in the handgun forum on the XD pistol you'll find a number of threads discussing the XD. Give those a read through and if you still have questions, ask away. :)
