So after lurking here for the better part of 2 months and reading up on what you guys had to offer, I finally made my decision and ordered today.

BCM Recce 14
ACOG TA31
Troy micro folding battlesights
Magpul CTR stock
Magpul AFG2
Tango Down BG-17 battlegrip

I have everything but the rifle in my possession and that should arrive sometime next week. Thanks to all who unknowingly contributed to my decision. I will make sure to post a picture when I have it all assembled.

It has been 10 long years since I last seriously shot an AR platform. I will probably jizz my pants upon confirming zero.

This is going to become an expensive habit. My next rifle is either going to be another AR built around a 12.5" upper or a precision shooter in 300 win mag. Whichever I choose it is going to be a slow build over the next year or two. I think what I purchased today will keep me occupied over that time frame.

You set up pretty nice for being out of it for 10 years. Good for you, looking forward to the final product.

Is that a mid length BCM?

EDIT - I see there 16" Recce on there which I know is a mid length, is that what you meant instead of 14?

Yes, mid length. And like I said in the first post, you guys gave me a lot of advice and guidance in my choice. I got out of the Army right as they were phasing in the M4 over the M16. Had very little military experience with the M4 but shot some civy with friends after I got out. College, marriage, kids, etc... And here I am now, finally settled in an area with a great shooting range and making enough to support a habit.

Why did you go with the Troy micro's?

Because the local shop carried them and I like the look and feel. Should I have selected something else?

That's what you think now. Give two weeks and let us know. I caught the bug in January and am about to complete my third rifle. My wife actually yelled at me because I haven't shot them enough.

As I understand it, the "Micro" variant of Troy's Battle Sights are for rifles with a rails higher than the traditional AR15 flat tops. Rifles like the XCR, HK 416, SCAR, etc. They are shorter to compensate for the higher rail.

The micro sights are for raised rails, like the HK416. Can you go back and exchange them for regular height Troy sights?

This is what I like about this board. Thanks for pointing that out, I had no idea. I am sure I will be able to return them for something else. Now, if you dont mind, explain to me why the micros make a difference.

This is my understanding as well.

I just picked up some Troy BattleSight set for $179.99 w/ free shipping http://targetsandtactical.com/Troy-Industries_c62.htm. Just sign up to be a member and you get $5 off first purchase.

Otherwise looks like a great set bro.

You can use the micros if you want. You will just have to have your head lower to the rifle. So it will effect your cheek weld more tyhan anything else.
