Hey all, What size/type of washer goes on the screw that holds the pistol grip in place? I replaced the standard grip with a MIAD and I never put the washer in the grip when I put it together and now I can't find the washer. The grip becomes loose when shooting so it looks like I need to get on asap!

Use either an internal or external 1/4" star washer, that is toothed lock washer.

KAC SR-15 lower. I don't remember if there was a washer in there originally when I mad the witch to the MIAD. My friend insist there most have been. I've tried tightening it down pretty tight, but it comes loos after about 75 rounds and the grip starts wobbling....

No washer came with my MIAD. I haven't shot with it yet though so we'll see what happens when I do.

I meant my friend insisted that the SR-15 had the washer inside the grip and I should have used the washer the rifle came with in the MIAD.... I just don't recall if the rifle originally had a washer or not....

I am pretty sure that you aren't suppose to use it, could be wrong. The screw should also have Loc-tite on it.

Yeah my miad grip came with no washer just some blue loc tite on the bolt. Try using some on the bolt that should solve the problem

I use a little bit of blue loctite and the lock washer on my MIAD and it never loosens.

I/A/W MAGPUL's MIAD instructions....."DO NOT reuse original mounting screw/lock washer."

Yep, the screw has blue loctite on it. My forearms are still sore from tightening the screw all the way to the base.
