I picked up my first RTF2 today. I've handled them quite a bit over the last year, but I have been trying to save money and not buy so much gun stuff. Then a few weeks ago, I read that glock had stopped/is going to stop production and I just had to pick one (for now) up.

I must say that I love this gun and the way it grips my hand. I have carried a G19 for 6 years and put about 10k through it with no malfunctions other than 2 hard primers and one sideways primer. The RTF2 19 has everything I have wanted with regard to the glock grip. My biggest problem was the gun would slide around a little bit if my hands got sweaty. The RTF2 really helps with this.

Also I love the more matte finish on the slide and barrel, it helps to reduce glare across the top of the gun if your facing a bright light source.

I picked this bad boy up from GB for $520 shipped, with a glock range bag, and 4 extra KCI mags (for plinking).

I will pick up a G17 RTF2 soon and maybe a G21SF RTF2 before they disappear forever!

She is purdy. I just picked up my second G17 rtf2 today for the same reason as yours. I love the RTF frame.

I've had fabulous success with Gen 4 9mm's and also have started shooting a Gen 3 RTF2 G17 (900rds). And because of its size/capacity I think the RTF2 G19 might be the "greatest of all time".

Good on ya!

I have a 19,17 and 21 rtf2 my favorite Glocks texture. All i have are the gilled ones but my 21sf rtf2 has straight. I was in a accident that left my left hand weak so these help me alot. Here is a very interesting link on the rtf2's.

I love the RTF2s also. I only have the 17 & 19 right now.

I had a 21SF RTF2, but I sold it in a moment of temporary insanity to some guy on the internet^

I just picked up a RTF G19 this week. I originally bought it because of the scarcity of them, but the more I handle it the better I like it.I find the back strap to be somewhat aggressive for my own hands, and will probaby smooth it down a little(carefully) but the rest of the grip is no problem for me.
Once I get the G17 trigger and the night sights on,I'll probably be carrying this one regularly.

I just bought a G19 RTF for the exact same reasons as the OP, just this week.

I'd like to get a G17 RTF as well; does anyone know if they are also availlable with the straight cocking serrations? I haven't come across any in my LGS but would pick one up if I could find one.

they are available. Ive seen quite a few on gunbroker lately with the straight serrations. I am gonna go by my LGS to try and find a G17 though.

Mine has the straight serrations, one reason I went ahead and sprang for it. I don't like the fishy gills at all and would have probably passed if it had those.

Folks should really not worry about the fish gills any more than they worry over dark gray vs light blackish Glock finishes. It's a Glock. The fish gills work very very well functionally. LAV won't deny you a place in class cause he hates them for some reason. ;)

I like thefunction of the fish gills... I just dont want one glock to look different than all my others.

Hey its a free country. :D But the RTF2 treatment! I've got to get my older Gen3's sharpened up along the front strap/backstrap to try and mimic this more closely.

shot the G19 today alongside my G34, and the frame texture was great when shooting. The gun just felt glued to my hand.

on the downside, I didn't shoot it very well due to being VERY accustomed to the G34's smooth trigger and 3.5lb connector. I have these parts on order, so I will probably go back next week with the upgrades.

I shot about 75 rounds of AE using a KCI mag with no malfunctions of any kind.

My most fav Glock I ever owned over the years was a Glock 17 RTF2. I love the frame differences...

I am trying to decide between switching to all Gen4 Glock 19s, or Gen3 RTF2 19s.

I actually still have RTF2 frames (4) for my old Gen3 19 that I bought from Glockmeister before I got rid of my only 19.

if you are happy with the grip size of the Gen 3, why upgrade? The gen 4s seem to be having quite a few teething problems.

Grip texture, and it seems to be more accurate and flatter shooting (for me).

I have a lot more trigger time on the 17 though.
