Got an A1 upper ready which looks a bit beat up, but otherwise in good condition.

Since any lower I will be able to buy in the Netherlands will be flat black a refinish is in order.

Also what would be the best way to reproduce a battlefield pickup look other than dragging it trough Laos 24/7 for six months...

Can you buy a lower from NoDak? Not sure how tough it is for you to import weapons, probably not worth the headache. They offer the weathered look. They also talk about how to make it yourself. I think your idea of applying a new finish is a better idea. The finish will help you protect your weapon.

I've used moly coat on my shotgun, it is easy to use and holds up well. I've also used regular spray paint. It depends on how much time and effort you want to put into the finish and what your goal is.

Thanks so far... been looking into NoDak Spud receivers, but I think it'll be a a pain to get the export papers for a 5.56 marked receiver.

Even though they look mighty fine....

If you have an airbrush set up I would suggest looking at Duracoat. Easy to apply and a large color/camo selection. It's a very robust finish.

Have used Duracoat HK black on one of the AK builds, with great result.

Think the mrs will have my hide if I ever use it indoors again.... :fie:

You have a rifle, what's the problem?..

So does she....severall actually, and she's a decent shot also...

Trust me....meeting your wife at the range is the ultimate equalizer.
