I have used most brands and types of slings and I would like to know what you use and why it is more effective than the other type. I don't want to bias the thread so I will wait a little while before I post my choice and reasoning. Please list a specific brand, type, and why it works for you.

SEARCH button must be on the fritz again.

There is a ton of sling info already in play here. Not to mention lots of other places where slings are mentioned, listed, or referenced, such as the AR pic thread (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=642) (not to mention the AR-10 (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=74), variants (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=19463), precision semis (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=65306), and SBR (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=40) threads), training and tactics (https://www.m4carbine.net/forumdisplay.php?f=11), etc.

What are you hoping to gain from starting this thread, that hasn't been discussed elsewhere? Lots of prople have already chimed in about what sling they chose, what they're doing with it, why they like/dislike it, and what other slings they've tried. The info's already here; SEARCH...

PS: VCAS padded. Allows me enough adjustment over clothes, body armor, gear, etc. Enough slack for shoulder switches, too. Snugs up tightly, no extra slack hanging around.

I have always wondered why people find it necessary to bother posting "use the search button." I was under the impression this was a discussion board. I started the thread based on something I read in another thread. I didn't want to hijack that thread so I started this one. Call me crazy but there might be new gear out now or people my have changed there slings choices. There could even be some new people here that may benefit from a new discussion. How about this anyone that would like to be part of this discussion post in it, anybody that doesn't don't. Seems like a pretty simple concept.

Most sling discussion is pretty well covered in the "master" sling thread here: http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=70377&highlight=sling

@Glockshooter, I use a padded Vickers/Blue Force Gear sling on mostly 14.5" and bigger shotguns and rifles. On shorter guns 12.5" and under I like single points like the GEAR Sector slings and use a QD DD end plate or the Noveske QD end plate on my lower receiver on an AR.

I find that the two point slings on longer guns makes pistol transitions easier and makes running with the long gun (like in 3gun) easier too. My favorite 2pt Vickers/Blue Force Gear sling has the metal slider and sewn in QD loops.
