OK, this thread is for the discussion & sign-up for the tentative VT subgun/pistol caliber carbine class in 2008 – South Hill, Virginia. Please let me know if you are truly interested in attending. I’m starting to take names early because of the specialty nature of this class. I’m also going to be working up a class description with Larry & Dave over the next few weeks. As soon as it gets completed and signed off on I will post it up.

I will be posting a list of names and updating it regularly in this thread.

I would most likely be interested in this.

Pistol caliber AR's offer shooters the ability to train at a reduced cost. This is of course a good thing! :D

How did I know you would be the 1st to reply?

I still remember the 1st 9mm AR that you built 5-6 years ago.

Hmm.

If I put a 33 rd mag in my G19, would that count? :D

Maybe I should finally get my hands on an M1 Carbine. That would do nicely, I would think.

mm... good question. i assume VA is class 3 friendly? specifically, the only pistol cal carbine i'd want to use for this class is an SBR. would like to bring a can too.

Transporting a SBR is not a problem. The ATF has a request form that usually comes back approved in around thirty days or less.

I will try and find the request form number today.

Paul this is the form to take a registered machinegun, SBR, SBS or AOW across state lines. http://www.titleii.com/Forms.htm It's the 5320.20 and you can fax it to the WV address at (304) 616-4501 (fax) or mail it to them at :

taliv:

Have Va_Dinger provide you with the formal address of the shooting range. I believe there is one. You will need it for the 5320.20. You should probably also list your hotel you will be staying in.

They can be issued for a year duration.

hey, what do you anticipate the limit on class size will be?

CMPM14NM
10-01-07, 20:22
The class size will be limited to 16 maximum.

Virginia is SBR, machinegun, and suppressor friendly. You will need to submit the ATF form to cross state lines with a SBR or machinegun but not for suppressors. VADinger will provide the location of the range once your sign-up paperwork has been submitted with a deposit.

Any pistol caliber long gun is welcome. M16 or MP5 types will have it easier but you can bring a Sten if that floats your boat. The vast majority of shooting will be semi-auto and EVERY shot will be aimed; you are accountable for every round you fire regardless of the platform.

I would love to attend this, but with the nature of my work schedule and the location in question it would be impossible for me to attend.

However, it is a great idea.

How can I forget the friend who loves to torment me so much? I have ex-wives who treat me better. With friends like you - who needs enemies?

You have been added to this list. :D

Stay safe.
