I noticed this when looking for a barrel. It seems like parts are starting to dry up again.
@OP Buncha places have LMT complete FA BCGs for $130.
They only dry up when you want to build something. -.- Been waiting for BCM 20" barrels since January.

Ain't that the truth! But it's like that when you get ready to do anything. Tons of available stuff when your in the planning stage, go to buy and it's drier than a cut throat.

Have you thought about one of those FNMI 20" barrels that pop up on the ARfcom equipment exchange?
You can try Quantico Tactical www.quanticotactical.com
A guy in my office in California bought a LMT F/A BCG yesterday at their Oceanside store for $130. Their website doesn't show inventory in stock or not, but they had them in stock at one of their stores.
If you use the code: EmailList it's 15% off basically everything they sell until 31 March.

Are they the same as the ones in the Military and LE Colts? If someone says they are, please state how you know they are.

Just got DD bcg from DSG Arms, shipped yesterday but not sure how many they have in stock. It was $150 shipped.

I find alot of companies these day don't keep alot of inventory on the shelf. That counts as a loss at end of year because it's money out of pocket.
Kimber has nothing in stock. They will take say orders for 200 of a certain model. Build them, ship them, and then they are out of stock again.
Palmetto Armory has Daniels Defense BCG's in stock.

Thanks to everyone who has provided a suggestion or a link.
I'm in the same boat, luckily one of my favorite vendors has some DD BCG's coming in this week.

I just ordered one yesterday, I can compare it to my well used 6940 bcg when it arrives. I sure hope they're the same. My hp/mp tester is broken though.

I can't imagine they'd be any different. It's not cost effective to run more than one set of bolt specs.... But Colt has been known to do nutty shit in the past.

Even they show as in stock on the web page, when I tried to order they advise that they are out of stock.

Stick,
There is a thread about these in the Colt Forum on TOS. Pics posted show Mil-spec packaging and all of the markings that would suggest that these are true M4/M16 BCGs. I'm not an expert on Colt, but it was enough evidence for me to order one.
I called Colt and spoke with someone there. I was told they are the same as the 6920 BCG's.
I bought one from LMT the other day. Direct from LMT.
I located and ordered a DD from one of the vendors I've used before, along with a DD carbine H buffer.

Are there any markings on the bolt?

"MPC" on the bolt. "C" on the carrier.
Just got an email that BCM's are back in stock: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-Bolt-Carrier-Group-MPI-Auto-M16-p/bcm%20bolt%20carrier%20group%20auto%20mp.htm
They now have one less in stock. ;)
Although Colt's price isn't too shabby... the BCM is still the better value.
My guess is everything is out of stock due mostly to tax return season and maybe a little after the Giffords shooting and sabre rattling lately of laws.

I would bet that your guess is 100% correct. I have also found myself running through my list of wants/need with more urgency lately.
Anyone have any experience with the BCM IONBOND BCG? Is it worth it?

I was fortunate to find an LMT FA bcg at my local guy's shop in Augusta GA, he had three hidden under the counter and I got it for less than Internet prices. Don't forget the local guy!!
What's up with the sudden need to get BCGs anyway?

Never bad to have a spare
Never bad to have a spare
I don't have any spares. I thought everyone bought fifty spares when Ali Bama won the election already...
There was some cat HERE who had 4 friggin spares on his bench when guys were struggling to find ONE to finish a build.

Tax time opportunity to add or upgrade. The DD BCG and buffer went into my RR.

Alright... :D

You've given me no-nonsense advice before. I see a lot of people have a spare bolt in their range bags. Is having the entire spare BCG not worth the extra money due to how rarely it's the carrier that malfunctions? I was gonna buy a spare BCM bolt to keep for emergencies but couldn't see why an entire BCG would hurt.
I would keep a spare bolt handy. I don't see the real need for the entire carrier.

Yeah.. odds are much greater that you'll experience a bolt failure over a carrier problem.
I did have a carrier key bolt break on me... but the gun still ran enough to shoot with.

Other than the bolt, what BCG parts should you have spares for?

I'd think that just a complete bolt would be enough.

Other than the bolt, what BCG parts should you have spares for?
I keep extra extractors, firing pins, and bolt cam pins in my parts bin, along with a a couple spare bolts and the springs to accompany them.

Other than the bolt, maybe a couple of Firing Pin Retaining Pins. Thats all I have extras of.
BCM is now in stock for their FA BCG. I don't know for how much longer though. I bought one earlier... and I'm not buying it as a 'backup', but rather a replacement for a poor quality stag bcg... that one will become the 'backup'... or if I decide to build my girlfriend a rifle, that'll probably be what goes in it. (sorry babe :p )
