I just moved into a new house and I have a small room in the basement under our "morning room" thats 15'3"x9'8". Since I used to do masonry work back in the day I was going to wall it off with 6 inch block and put a simple steel door with a padlock. I'm calling this my "workshop" but it will most likely be just a gun room.
My main problem is that there is a basement window in this room as well and I was thinking about how I could prevent acess to my room through this window while still allowing escape in case of emergency.
I have found a sort of cage that goes over the window which blocks entry and I think since it says they are "hinged" that means you can open and close them at will. Here's the link http://www.simsupply.com/Items/206002S
I was also thinking about some sort of gun rack system either made of wood or just hooks. I sort of had a vision of what you might see in the movies of a police armory or something of that nature. What do you guys think. Any advice and suggestions are most welcome thank you.
