View Full Version : Rare colt upper?

I recently purchased a colt upper from a member on here. Initially I did not recognize the proof markings on the receiver, but after a little research(limited) I discovered It is a colt 6920 made by Diamaco Colt in Canada. It has all the colt and Diamaco proof marks on the receiver,but I have not seen these on any 6920 upper. I dont know much about this upper. Does anyone know if this has a CHF barrel? or if it is rare in any aspect? I will put detailed pics of the proof markings later.

They aren't super rare [edit, rare but not non-existent]. Is it stylized D or DK with a C?

It does not have a cold hammer forged barrel.

It's a stylized D then the bottom half of 'A' with a triangle on top

Picture please. Sounds almost like Diemaco Anchor Harvey which would be odd.

It has a full auto BCG, but no markings at all on the carrier. It has MPI on the bolt on one side and AM on the other side.

Absolutely NOTHING wrong with a mil spec barrel.

Yup Diemaco Anchor Harvey http://www.anchorharvey.com/ (annoying sounds effects when it loads warning)

Colt Defense barrels are button rifled btw. Colt Canada (Diemaco) makes cold hammer forged barrels but it is specifically for the Canadian government.

maybe not rare for you guys but i know people here that would give away their first born for anything made by Colt Canada since we can't get anything from them :(

I bought 4 6920's in 2006. One of the guns is a Diamaco made gun.

The lower is stamped Colt Canada.

My barrel is marked with laser etching vs. the stamped markings of the US made guns and says "C CMP".

I have been told by some sources it's a CHF barrel, and by some that it's not. For my uses, I wouldn't be able to notice the difference either way.

I use this gun as a spare to my US made 6920. If it has any special value, I'm unaware of it. Mine has less than 100 rds through it. But this is not because it has any value, but only because I bought it for a spare gun, and my primary 6920 has yet to go down.

The other 2 6920's I bought are US made guns. These are sighted in, oiled up, and set aside for my kids, for when they get older. Just because...
