View Full Version : Vltor recommended torque setting for gas block
Anyone know if Vltor has a recommended torque setting for their clamp on gas block? Or is the torque setting set at "crank the shit out of it"
My advice is to pay a gunsmith to pin it. That way you don't have to worry about the screws. It should not cost more than $30.
I would refer to whatever the industry standards are for the screw size being used.
Screws often loose gripping power when over tightened, the threads can be weakened.
I agree with having it pinned. IMHO that's $30 well spent. If you already have the clamp-on gas block, torquing it down isn't going to be the key, Rocksett will be. That is not something you want to come loose.
email or call Vltor. They should be able to tell you what they recommend.
