I'm gonna build a new rifle that will have a Noveske 16.1" ss barrel with a DD M4A1 RIS II in DE. I ran a search on google and couldn't find any pics with the set up I'm looking for, so if you got any pics of a rifle that is close to what I'm looking for please post it. Thanks

You might want to see about getting one of Noveske's lightweight SS profiles instead of their standard recce SS profile, especially with that rail. Otherwise it's going to be pretty front heavy.

save the picture somewhere on the internet (photobucket, myspace, here, etc), then right click and copy it's location, then paste it into the little window that pops up when you click the sunset icon above the text box. that way we don't need to click something to see it.

Not at all.

The RIS-II is very lightweight. Its not a TRX, but much stronger mounting than the TRX, for a few ounces more.

Good point. correct me if I'm wrong but wont the heavier barrel have a longer life? Also i plan on using this gun for hunting, target shooting and possibly for some 3 gun in the future, and I'm pretty sure that some matches have weight limits right? If so the lightweight SS might be the way to go.

I really wish they could have shoehorned the RIS II down to the width of the older M4 rail.

That's still my favorite rail profile - you'd think the extra ~1/8th of an inch on either side wouldn't matter much, but it bothers me enough that I went and found an FDE M4 rail for the last upper I put together. It's just a bit lighter, too, which is a bonus.

Yes, the RIS-II is very lightweight, relatively speaking. However, the Omega X, M4, and Lite rails are all lighter than the RIS II. Not only that, the Lightweight SS barrel produced by Noveske is 6 oz lighter than their Recce SS barrel. You can save almost half a pound by going to the Lite rail with a Lightweight SS barrel - that's significant.
