I use Winchester RA9T for personal defense/carry ammo in my Glock.

I have been shooting Winchester TCMS 147gr for practice ammo as it is cheaper and I figured it shoot be pretty comparable to the RA9T.

I can get Speer Lawman 147gr for $50 less per case than the Winchester TCMC.

My question is would all 147gr 9mm ammo be close enough ballistically out to 50 yards to train with?

The Speer should be fine. I would go with the cheapest 147 gr ball, from any of the major US manufacturers, I could find if I carried 147 JHPs.

In testing our guns here, back when we carried S&W 5906 series guns, and now that we are in Glock 9mms, we found that as a general rule 115 to 147gr was GTG, they all grouped close enough to not have to worry about it.

Seriously, if it's factory ammo that functions through my guns I'll run it, cost and availability are my deciding factors.

We carry 147 gr HST; train with everything from 115 gr WWB FMJ to 147 gr Fed AE FMJ--doesn't seem to matter much as long as it reliably goes bang. Occasionally shoot some old 147 gr HST that has been relegated to training role to verify function and POA/POI.
