Ok I plan on cutting my barrel down. My gun has ghost rings on it. Will my smith be able to remove the front sight and re-install it or will I need to purchase another "tower" front sight for the ghost ring? If I need to purchase another one can anyone link me to it at brownells or midway?

Second question... my nightsights are burnt out. Not a big deal cause I want to put a fiber optic front on anyway. Is there a replacement rear ghost ring that is solid black with no dots? And who makes the most rugged green fiber optic to replace the front night sight with?

And the last question (for now lol)... I plan on removing the mag extension and cutting the barrel flush with the end of the tube. Would this...

... be the best thing to use or is there another option? I plan on putting a Nordic big bolt knob on it and would like to have one of their spiral fluted extension tube nuts but I don't need a tube. Would it be possible to use this...

... as just an end cap with no extension?

I'm going for a Benelli M1K look like this...

I had one holy hell of a time trying to find someone willing to do a quality shortening of my M2 barrel. They are really thin behind the enlarged muzzle area. I wanted 14", so I eventually decided it would be much better to locate a factory 14" barrel, which I finally did.

Why do you want to go so short? Sure, they look cool and all but it holds what, 3 rounds? My 14" M2 can hold 7 rounds, with one on the lifter and another chambered. Plus, it gives me a place to mount a CDM flashlight mount for my X-300. It's a beautiful thing.

It will hold 4 in the tube and 1 on the lifter. It's just for grins. I have a 14 inch 870 for serious use.

Fair enough. The only fiber optic front sight I've seen is the Hi Viz that I have on my M2 shorty. Look on their site for it. It's a funny U shaped thing and I have to say it is not very effective (not bright) nor very sturdy looking.

None of your links worked for me so can't help you there. You could use the Nordic nut I imagine if you could find somebody to machine you an end for it.....I have a Nordic extension on my 3-gun M2 so I can give it a look see for you to determine if it's feasible.
