View Full Version : Beretta 90 Two
Anyone have any experience with this pistol in 9mm? And if so, what is your impression overall of this firearm? I have never fired a Beretta of any kind and i am curious about this model.
How does it compare with a Sig P226 in 9mm?
I have seven Berettas. I have owned the 90-Two twice. I won a 90-Two back in 2006, but sold it unfired to help pay for a PS90... I found the grip too slippery.
I bought another last year, but sold it a month ago, and used the $ to go towards a 92FS compact.
I am a HUGE Beretta fan - but the 90-Two was my least fav of all the 92 variants I owned. It looks cool, and I like the way the slide is shaped. The dovetailed front sight is nice too. But that grip just sucks.
I am not a big polymer gun fan, because there are no options for rubber grips except for those slip on ones. And, there was the same issue with the 90-Two. I actually tried 4 or 5 solutions,a nd none worked.
Even if you aren't a rubber grip fanatic like I am - the texture on the 90-Two grip is rather slippery on the front strap. Now, if you are a guy who loves to throw a hogue slip on grip on a Glock - then you probably won't care about this issue, and then you will love the gun.
I would suggest that you get the new 92A1. It has all the new features introduced in the 90-Two, but it uses regular 92 grips.

I have owned dozens of guns over the years - at the moment, the 92 platform is my fav. I prefer it even to 1911s. Out of all the 92 variants, the 1 handed balance of the regular 92FS (with no rail) is my absolute favorite. The 92A1 is my 2nd favorite.

Thank you for your detailed response, Shipwreck. I am intrigued by the 92FS compact. The Beretta 92 is definitely on my radar now.
Better get a 92 compact now if ya want one. They have not been imported in over 10 years. And no one knows how long the current new batch will be available.
