I have decided to purchase a Vortex 1-4 PST for my AR 15 for duty use. I have not used magnified optics and need advise on the reticle.
Which would be better, the TMCQ Mrad Reticle or the TMCQ MOA Reticle. What would be the reasons for your choice?

Thank you.

Visually I don't think your are going to notice much (if any) difference and it's unlikely you are going to do any serious ranging with at 4x or less, anyway.

The turret adjustments are the main different: One is .5 MOA per click (or about 1/2" per click at 100 Yds). The other is .2 mrads per click (or about .72" at 100 Yds).

The important thing is that the knobs and reticle are matched. By that I mean there are either both MIL/MIL or MOA/MOA. Here are links to them both. It appears to me that the circle on the MOA covers less of the target. Put them side by side on your computer and toggle between them. Go with the one you like best.

Circle covers same amount of target.
5 mils = 18 MOA, as one mil is equal to 3.6 MOA. Believe the mil stadia lines simply extend further than the MOA stadia, so it looks like the circle covers less in the MOA version.
I think there is no bad choice. As shootist pointed out, the clicks are "finer" on the MOA model, but some people like the mil system, if they are used to it or want to learn to use it.
I got the mil version and printed out trajectory compensations in mils, taped to stock.
