Thought I'd show off my refinished Sig P-220. This old timer rode in my holster daily for the first fifteen years of my law enforcement career. It's seen some tough duty over the years. I had it refinished in NP3 and Roguard a year after I started carrying it since the original finish just wasn't holding up. That held up pretty well but I had to send the slide back twice for fresh roguard.

It had been sitting in my safe for the past few years not getting much attention. But last year my son took a fancy to it and shot it for part of the summer. So I decided to have it spruced up for the upcoming season. There were several scratches in the slide that needed attention.

I sent it off to Bob at the Victoria Art Factory http://victoriaartfactory.com/ and had him Cerakote the slide. I left the frame and internals alone since the NP3 is still like new.

Got it home today and put everything back together. Wow, it's like having a new gun. The slide is perfect and the finish seems much more durable than the old roguard. Hat's off to Bob for the excellent work and fast turn around. His attention to detail and meticulous prep really show in the finished piece.

My son can't wait to shoot the "old man's" gun. He loves busting my balls about the fact that I carry a 9mm now and he shoots the .45. Mind you he's 16 going on 21 and weighs maybe 100pounds soaking wet. :D

It looks great. I'm sure your son will like it too. It's nice to give a gun a face lift...it's like a new gun for half the price.

P220 looks great. P220 was my first duty weapon too, and like you I had it refinished but I had Walt Birdsong coat mine. I wish I still had it.

There's been a couple of times when I almost sold it, glad I didn't. The guns I cherish the most are the ones my Pops gave me. Hopefully this one will be appreciated by my son.

Very nicely done! I'm a big fan of classic SIGs.

I sent my Sig to Robar as well. I had the NP3 Plus done to the entire thing. Looks good...

looks great man. my carry piece is still a Sig P220R, occasionally switched out for a P228 if concealment is paramount. at the end of the day though the P220 is the favorite.

Nice gun and finish. The NP3 on the entire frame looks very nice.

I have one with a Roguard finish on the slide and NP3 on all the internals and levers.

Very nice SIG, Wedgewood. Did you have the hammer spur ground down a bit?

Good eye! Just a little rounding to accomodate off duty carry many moons ago. I did all the work myself when I took a Sig Armorer's class. Although I don't think that's what they had in mind for us.:D
