Just a reminder folks-- there is one month left before the May 1st drawing on LTW's custom 1911 package to benefit NSWF. Details here:
http://www.louderthanwords.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8518

As to how and where to get tickets, it's in that thread and below.

Bottom line, $10 a pop for a chance at a great custom 1911 and accessories.

Go here for NSWF's info on the raffle:
http://www.nswfoundation.org/ltwfirearm.htm

At the bottom it says this:
To purchase tickets click here- https://www.givedirect.org/give/givefrm.asp?CID=4730 – follow the instructions for payment and select the COLT 1911 PISTOL from the Program Area drop down menu.

You may have seen this written up in the latest American Handgunner.

Beautiful gun and a great cause. It almost makes you feel bad even choosing the 1911 in the drop down menu - since there are so many other options worth choosing to donate. I'm bookmarking that site. Whether it's skipping a cigar, a dinner out with the wife, or a box of ammo - I'm going to make an effort to donate once a month.

Big thanks to the Teams for their service...

Thanks guys. And indeed it's a good cause-- I have a really good feeling about NSWF because I've been contacted by several SEALS and they all know about NSWF and tell me it's a real-deal benefactor to SEALS in need.

BTW, for those of you who aren't up to speed about LTW, please take the time to check it out at louderthanwords.us. Long story short, we are a consortium of custom 1911 smiths from all over the country, who collaborate on custom 1911's that get raffled, and the proceeds go to a selected charity. In the last 7 years, our raffles have garnered the following:

$40K to Ted Nugent's Kamp for Kids
$28K to Cops for Kids/ POSA, for pediatric cancer research
$36K to americansnipers.org one year, and--
$28K the following year
$40K to the Naval Special Warfare Foundation

As previously mentioned we are doing the NSWF again this year. Next year, HAVA, Honored American Veterans Afield will be the beneficiary.

Also, a couple times a year we collaborate on a custom gun to sell and help fund our presence at SHOT and NRA. Having a booth at these shows is very expensive.... and these "revenue guns" are how we minimize the individual out-of-pocket costs for our BOD.

One of our "rev guns" this year will be an AR15, for the first time. Since I seem to be the most AR-oriented guy at LTW, LTW's BOD put me on this one. This is underway and should be ready to offer in 4-6 weeks.... I will of course make sure M4C-ers get a good shot at it.

Thanks for bringing this up - I buy a raffle ticket or two every year, but it had completely slipped my mind this time.

Again, still slipping my mind - I have the receipt for my donation - do they send ticket numbers separate?

As soon as tickets were made available I bought some for friends to kinda test the process. It went very smoothely I thought, I got confirmation Emails and figured I was good to go, then 2-3 weeks later I also got something in the mail. I actually thought this was reduntant but I know lots of folks like to get a hard copy..... so short version, I think you'll get both.
