View Full Version : Running the EOTech

While at the range yesterday I was doing some training between 7 & 15 yards with the goal of bringing the gun on target and getting the shot and/or shots off within .75 seconds from low ready and safety on. I'm trying to maintain focus on the subject and let the EOTech reticle come into the view. Keeping the target in sharp focus, while the reticle is picked up in my peripheral view (slightly blurred). This is the proper way to run the red dot, is it not?

Most of my shots stayed within a 6" circle at COM.

I remember coming across an article about the EOTech relating to it's use by SF operators and it indicated that in the field, the operators were shooting the EOTech "window" as opposed to picking up the reticle during CQB distances. This makes perfect sense to me because we're looking for maximum effect on target not tight groups right?

I welcome your comments and any advice.
