barrel break-in help

I've done a search and nothing turned up but maybe someone can lead me in the right direction.

Just got a SD SS 18in 1/8 barrel and I know (or believe) the chrome lined barrels don't need to be broken in but whats the correct procedure for breaking in a SS barrel???

It matters who you ask............Gale McMillan says barrels don't need breaking in.

My wifes ArmaLite AR30 (.338Lapua) non-chrome lined barrel and we didn't do the sacred 'break-in'.......and it shoots 1/2" at 200yds all day long. That says something about the handloads, but it shoots regardless.
