Defensive Concepts North Carolina will be conducting our Defensive Carbine 2 (Intermediate Carbine) course on 4-5 June 2011 in Carthage, NC, at the Trigger Time Range Complex. Course tuition is $275 (includes $25 range fee). Please contact me through email (chris@DefensiveConceptsNC.com) or site PM if you have any questions. Here is a brief description of what you can expect:

Defensive Carbine II seamlessly picks up where Defensive Carbine I stopped. Students will receive training that further refines their marksmanship fundamentals and introduces new skills. Material to be covered includes: shooting and malfunction clearance on the move, multiple target engagement, distance shooting, bilateral shooting, unconventional shooting positions, and more.

Prerequisite: completion of a recognized level 1 carbine course or similar experience

Equipment List:


*Semi-auto Carbine with sling (zero rifle prior to attending the course)

*Handgun with holster (dominate-side hip or thigh holster) (optional)

*5 carbine magazines minimum

*3 pistol magazines minimum (if using a single stack pistol; bring 6 magazines)

*1000 rounds of carbine ammunition (minimum) (1250 minimum if not using a handgun)

*250 rounds of handgun ammunition (minimum)

*Chest rig, belt pouch, etc to carry 3 carbine mags while on the line

*Pistol magazine pouch

*Ear and eye protection (electronic hearing protection is preferred)

*Weapon cleaning kit

*Weapon lubricant (carbine and pistol)

*Folding chair

*Pen/Notebook

*Knee and elbow pads (optional but encouraged)

*Bug spray/sunscreen

*Food (fast food is available in the area for lunch, but bring food enough food to at least snack on)

*Appropriate outdoor range attire (shorts are not appropriate attire).



The class will start at 0800 sharp. Please arrive early so we can square away any administrative issues before class.

Due to the current economic situation we are allowing the use of pistol caliber carbines, 22lr conversion kits, and 22lr rifles/carbines. If you plan on using one of these items, please let us know when you register for the course
