Does anyone have the full story on the new extractors Glock is using in the later 3rd Gens? It seems they are now using the same extractors for both the 3rd and 4th gens. Im just concerned that they will degrade relability since I have heard some rumblings of FTE malfunctions with the new extractors.

FYI, to tell the difference the new extractor has a "dip" along the top edge. Old style in the front, new in the rear.

I would like to hear more on this too.

Especially since my last 2 G19s are both of the "newer" generation. I haven't had any problems with them at all but I have only fired around 200 rds through each to check function and put them into the safe as backups.

I looked at both types, (Not disassembled) and other than the "dent" I don't see any visible differences.

Are the extractors backwards/forwards compatible?

I wouldn't worry about "the new extractors". The problem may be some bad extractors. Six 2010 9mm G's with new extractors here run as perfectly as mathamatically possible. Not too tough to make them right if you stumble into a problem.
