What type of stock (AK) do I have?

Short story....My brother in law worked for NATO when the wall fell, and of course they went over into East Germany. He brought this stock back for me. It won't fit on a MAK, i know that for sure.

I'm wondering what type I have. Guesses? Any idea what it might be worth?

It is an East German wire side folder that appeared on several East German Kalashnikov variants.

Could also be Romanian. They used them as well and they fit most European stamped AK's.

Here is a good reference to help identify the various Eastern European wire side folding stocks. I use to have a Romanian push button one on a SAR-1.

I happen to be looking at getting a new AK. Any suggestions of what decent rifles this will fit?

It should fit most stamped AK varients with a standard stock like a WASR, SLG21, etc. YMMV.

You can fit the stock, by taking a little bit of metal off the sides.

It really is designed to fit European 1mm thick stamped receivers like an AKM or AK-74.

Arsenal Inc. SGL series, a Nodak NDS-1 or NDS-3 receiver kit build would also work.
