I was just curious what factory ammo people like using in their G19.

All of it. . .

Carrying a G19 CCW for eight years now, I have never (knock on wood) experienced any kind of malfunction with factory ammo.

The only malf I've ever had with my G19 was some old Cor Bon +p+ 115gr JHP. It comes out at supposedly 1350ish. (VERY hot.) It felt like it, too. Anyway, I had one of them fail to feed into the chamber. I've tried a lot of other ammo through it, from JHPs to various FMJs, with no other issues.

Anything but Steel Case. I target/train with PMC. Car carry with TAP and Ranger +P

For practice and training find the cheapest ammo you can find online and buy it in bulk. My Glocks have chewed up everything from Wolf, to Magtech to Blazer and UMC. If it's cheap I buy it and shoot it until its gone.

if i had to use factory ammo it would be steel case, and as cheap as i could find.

reloads are about 40% cheaper than that even though, and they're clean, accurate, tunable, and consistent.

Any and everything that fires when I pull the trigger.

The cheapest ammo here locally is Federal Champion.

These guns aren't exactly ammo sensitive, so if the ammo isn't total shit, it will generally work.

Cheapest, which is usually Federal brass or Blazer brass. Russian steel case ran fine too.

I've NEVER seen a 9mm Glock that was a picky eater. Shoot what you want.

I think the only factory ammo issue i've ever heard of with glocks was that super hot egyptian(?) subgun ammo. it was like +++P+ basically waay over saami and NATO specs. That stuff will pretty much destroy any standard 9mm luger firearm. I think most of that stuff is off the market now anyways.

Local made bullets, cheap Bear Creek lead bullets; not recommended in Glocks but they work flawlessly.

Anything except Russian steel cased (for superstition, no other arguable reason) and no Georgia Arms ammo.

Fed.l, Tula, Win., anything - no issues in either of mine.

Amen, brother! My Glock 19(s) eat it all.

I will buy pmc bullets every once in a while when I need some new brass other than that I reload 115gr FMJ montana gold or 115g FP berrys....don't think I have ever had a FTF or FTE

Whatever is cheapest, by whomever is making it. I'm tossing lead at paper targets, spending more per shot does not make me happier.

Everything I have tried (probably 2 dozen varieties of plinking and defense ammo) has worked.

My G17 has eaten thousands and thousands of reloads. Usually Zero bullets with Unique, titegroup, or solo 1000. It is about half the cost of steel cased.

Blazer 124 grain FMJ (aluminum case) for range use and matches. It's cheap, it's accurate out of my G17 and I don't feel bad dumping the spent cases in the trash. I also keep a generous supply of Federal and Winchester Ranger 124 +P JHP which my G17, S&W 5906 and Walther PPS also shoot well.

I must be the odd one out--my G19's had all sorts of issues w/aluminum cased CCI Blazer, but are okay with everything else

Carry Ammo:

Federal 147 gr. JHP (RA9T, or something)
Hornady 147 gr. JHP
Winchester 147 gr. JHP (PDX1 Elite I think it's called)

Training ammo:

WWB, Fiochi, Wolf, PMC, etc.

I have fired mostly Federal champion 9mm through mine and I carry 124 gr. +P PDX1s and I have not had any problems in my Gen 4 19.

RA9T is Winchester Ranger. :p

Only problems I've ever had with any Glock I've fired was with the Winchester 9mm NATO; light primer strikes that did not go bang. It always fired when cycled through again though.

Looking at some old boxes I never threw away, you are correct. I am herp da derp when it comes to Federal's number designations.

Thanks for the correction. :p

You caught that too huh? ;)

My Gen 4 G19 has issues with light strikers on the russian ammo that traditionally have slightly harder than normal primers.

Other than that, besides "normal" gen 4 extraction issues, it ignites and feeds everything else.

No issues in my G19s shooting aluminum cased Blazer. Took a pistol class and a couple of guys with G19s each shot a case of Blazer w/o any malfunctions either. The lighter aluminum cases can cause issues though.
