View Full Version : LMT BCG
I recently bought an LMT BCG from Rainier and the gas key has a really wavy, rough texture to it. I read about the MIM but looked at the staking and it looks fine so I have my doubts it is MIM. I didn't expect it to be perfect as cheap as it is but I expected a little more. Has anyone bought one lately that was a little rough?

I'm pretty sure that LMT gas key is MIM, it's is easy to spot it will have flash lines from the mold.

I figured that was probably what it is. I was under the impression they had stopped using MIM keys from what I had read. It doesn't appear to have any flashing and that wouldn't bother me any way since I could knock that off easily with a file. This looks more like it will take a good bit of wear for it to smooth down.
If you bought it from trusted dealer such as Rainier, you should be good to go.
And yes, you can tell a MIM gas key right away by the faint flash circle between the gas key screws.
