View Full Version : The Hi Power is finished
Last year I bought one of those police surplus Hi Powers from AIM. I set aside a budget and went about doing some minor customization. First of all, it functioned fine, and it isn't going to be a carry piece. That defined what I was going to have done.
I sent it to Cylinder and Slide. I had them cut the slide for Heinie sights and install straight 8's. They installed a wide trigger without the magazine safety, and I could swear they tweaked the ambidextrous safety I had installed. Finally, they refinished it in graphite black.
I found a place that custom grips and added a bit of bling.
Here's the result.

Very nice. How does it shoot?

That's a very sweet piece.

Shoots well enough. It's not the most accurate handgun I own, that still goes to the FN FiveseveN, but it does just as well as my M&P and my heavily modified Glock 17.
Very nice HP. A real nostalgic piece that has been updated. Like the finish seems real dark and matted.
Love the grips. What's on the other side?
I totally misread you. When I saw the title of thread, I looked like spongebob when squidward stepped on the crabby patty. "The Hi Power is finished? Nooooooo!"

The same thing.
Nice
I've been thinking about putting that trigger into my BHP. How do you like it compared to the normal?

Surface line. Mighty fine.
I'm off my meds.;)

I like it, but to be perfectly honest, I probably have 100 rounds through it in each configuration. So I couldn't give you any type of in depth opinion on it.

I thought for sure you were going to say, "it would look better with dolphins on it.";)

I took it out today to shoot. It's been 6 months or more since I've shot a pistol for more than a couple of rounds. I was getting 1" five shot groups at 10 yards pretty consistently. I'm sure it shoots better than I do.

I so totally do not get Navy humor. :(
;)
Very Nice,
I really like HP's.
So, what type of wood are the grips?
